Description
Capturing the reflection was the primary objective of this picture but I also wanted to capture the standing individual who is building up his nerve to approach the tourist sitting on the bench. The seeker of funds, I found out, comes from a good family and his current situation is tragic. This picture was taken just a few doors up from Front Street in front of the Irish Linen Shop. The houses in the reflection are on the other side of Hamilton harbor. A hurricane had gone through a few days before this picture and I thought these palm trees were looking pretty ragged. The three story blue building in the reflection is Goslings liquor store. Notice all the scooters and motor bikes parked on the street. You can't rent cars in Bermuda. While Bermudians enjoy one of the highest standard of living in the world and like to think they live in paradise, there are still those in need.
