It amazes me when I go to watch my two granddaughters play and practice how popular ice hockey has become with girls and young women. On a Saturday morning, hundreds of girls with their huge hockey equipment bags and fathers in tow are coming and going in this facility. It has four ice rinks. My son is the coach of the team his four year old and six year old daughters are on. Ice hockey, as it is played by these girls, is usually a tame affair with an emphasis on skating, shooting and stick handling skills.
The teen age girls playing the sport look amazingly healthy. It is a great conditioning sport.
