love the composition of this, it kinda breaks the rules (of thirds) but is all the better for doing so...

Russ, the reason it probably works is because I left that dark cloud in the top right hand corner to balance the boat in the bottom left hand corner. That cloud adds the element of the third layer. The composition was boring without it. As well, the two shades of orange and the blue ocean with orange tints breaks it into thirds.
